Curriculum vitae

Jimmy Rentmeester · Tilburg, Netherlands

Ten years in e-commerce, four of them leading a team, and four apps where every product call was mine.

Lead Product Manager. I turn strategy into execution in complex environments with a lot of moving parts. I bring business, customer needs, data and technology together to make decisions and get teams moving. I'm strongest at prioritising, working with stakeholders, and bringing structure to problems that have a lot of dependencies.

Experience

Coolblue · 2020 – present

Lead Product Manager

2022 – present · Gaming, Printers & Office

I'm responsible for the vision and strategy of two categories. I turn strategic goals into roadmaps and quarterly milestones, and guide my teams in delivering them. Customer value, commercial impact and feasibility have to stay in balance. I lead six product managers and four product editors, and coach them on their work and their development.

  • Setting and rolling out vision and roadmaps across several category teams.
  • Turning vision and strategy into concrete project plans, prioritised on customer and business value.
  • Leading multidisciplinary project teams, with structured alignment, progress tracking and prioritisation.
  • Taking projects from concept to delivery on the basis of data and customer insight, and safeguarding the progress and quality of the team's work.
  • Using Looker and AI platforms for reporting and process optimisation.

Product Manager, Gaming

2020 – 2022

End-to-end owner of the commercial performance and customer journey of the Gaming category. The big one was the PlayStation 5 in 2020. It was the most wanted product of the year and we had very little stock, so I worked with development, mobile, marketing, customer service and logistics all at the same time.

After that I set up a process so that with every new batch of stock, every team knew exactly what to do and when. That gave us a lot less customer contact, a higher NPS and better use of the stock we had, with less effort than the time before.

  • Driving growth in Gaming and improving customer journeys using behavioural, returns and review data.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to hit commercial targets.
  • Coaching fellow product managers on data, experimentation and the craft.

U-Approach · 2014 – 2016

Software Research & Concept Development

2014 – 2016 · Eindhoven

Developing concepts around Bluetooth beacons for clients including GLOW and VisitBrabant, thinking through the implementation and how visitor interaction could be encouraged.

  • Working with design and IT to get those concepts built correctly.
  • Researching mobile applications and user behaviour: how people engage with apps or fail to, and what actually shifts that behaviour.

Own work

Outside work I make iOS apps on my own, with AI agents as my development partner. To keep that repeatable I built my own way of working: a project structure and written documentation that I reuse, so every project starts further along than the last.

Four of them are described on the front page. GRID_BREAKER and BabyBeam are in the App Store, WristVault is on its way, and Stillwater runs in the browser. For all four, the scope, the price, the store listing, the translations and the compliance paperwork were mine to decide.
