BabyBeam is a private baby monitor that connects two of your own devices. It is built so your baby's room stays private. In short: we don't collect or store any of your data, and we can't see or hear your video and audio. We only receive an email if you send us one yourself. Below is exactly which third-party services the app uses.
BabyBeam has no sign-up and no user accounts. The app contains no analytics, no ads and no third-party tracking of any kind. There is no BabyBeam server.
Live video and audio travel over WebRTC between your two devices, end-to-end encrypted (DTLS-SRTP). Normally the connection is direct. If you have set up a TURN relay yourself in Settings, the connection runs through that server. Video and audio stay encrypted; the relay can't view them. Nothing is recorded and nothing is stored. There is no cloud library and no history.
To let your two devices find each other, a small connection "handshake" passes briefly through Apple's CloudKit. Before it is sent it is encrypted with a key derived from your pairing code (AES-256), which we don't know; it is deleted once you're connected. We can't read its contents.
To find each other outside your own Wi-Fi, each device asks a Google STUN server (stun.l.google.com) for its public internet address. Google sees your device's IP address when that happens. Video, audio and your pairing code never pass through it. Google's privacy policy applies to that processing.
If you send feedback from the app, your own mail app opens a message to us. Below your text it lists the app version, the app and device language, the device model, the iOS version and whether it is the baby or the parent phone. You see all of it before you send and can edit it. Your pairing code is never included. We only use your email to reply and to improve the app.
A tip is paid through Apple. We receive no payment details or other personal information.
BabyBeam asks for camera, microphone, local network and notification access only to run the live monitor on your own devices. These are used on the device itself and in the connection between your devices; they are not data we collect.
BabyBeam is a tool for parents and caregivers. The app knowingly collects no information about anyone, children included.
