BabyBeam is a private baby monitor that connects two of your own devices. It is built so that your baby's room stays private. In plain terms: we do not collect, receive, store, or have access to any of your data.
BabyBeam has no sign-up and no user accounts. It contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There is no BabyBeam server.
Live video and audio travel directly between your two devices using WebRTC, end-to-end encrypted (DTLS-SRTP). Nothing is recorded and nothing is stored — there is no cloud library and no history.
To let the two devices find each other, a small connection "handshake" passes briefly through Apple's CloudKit. Before it is sent it is encrypted with a key derived from your pairing code (AES-256), which we do not know, and it is deleted once the devices connect. We cannot read its contents.
BabyBeam asks for camera, microphone, local network, and notification permissions solely to provide the live monitor on your own devices. These are used on-device and in the direct connection only; they are not data we collect.
BabyBeam is a tool used by parents and carers. It does not knowingly collect any information about anyone, including children.
